Album Info:I first discovered the Lehigh Valley when I took the Reading's Crusader and after 1967 the train was routed over a short section of the LV into Newark. Later I would take the Reading to Bethlehem and I explored the extensive LV operation there. On April 1, 1976, Conrail took over the operations of the Lehigh Valley.

LNE snowplow
Title:  LNE snowplow
Description:  For years, this Lehigh and New England snowplow spent most of the year at the old CNJ station in Bethlehem, PA. After the LNE quit in 1961, the CNJ operated a small stub from Bethlehem for a little over a decade. By January 1976, when I took this photograph, the Lehigh Valley was operating the line (an LV Alco RS11 can been seen behind the snowplow).
