Instead of taking Amtrak there directly from Philadelphia, I took the then-independent Southern Crescent to Birmingham and then took the Amtrak Floridian (a Chicago to Florida train) from Birmingham to Miami. Heres the Crescent in Birmingham in August 1976. |
